Ruger was found as a stray on the streets in South Texas in November 2021.  He was extremely emaciated and life on the streets was very unkind to him.  He was rescued with another beautiful Black Lab that has since been adopted.  Ruger needed some time to get healthy and learn how to be a dog that is loved and cared for.  He no longer and will never have to survive this horrible life he once lived.   Ruger is a sweet 3 year old purebred Black Lab that is a total shadow dog and wants to be everywhere his humans are. He is crate trained, potty trained, and has learned to sit for his dinner – which is impressive because of how excited he gets for dinner! He is very playful and would love a dog or human to run around with! This boy LOVES the water, especially running and jumping in at full speed.  He thinks he is a professional dock diving dog.  Ruger is good with dogs but it does take him a little time to warm up and be confident around other 4-legged friends.  Life on the streets taught him to be a little cautious of unknown dogs but he has since become a well socialized dog.  He is much more relaxed and is a much happier and healthier dog.
